Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2003 im Fachbereich VWL - Finanzwissenschaft, Note: 1,7, Universität zu Köln (Finanzwissenschaftliches Institut ), Veranstaltung: Finanzwissenschaftliches Hauptseminar, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Migrationsprozesse werden durch die gravierenden Einkommensdifferenzen zwischen weniger entwickelten Ländern, wie den Ländern der dritten Welt, und hoch entwickelten Ländern, wie Westeuropa oder den USA, ausgelöst und durch Kriege und Bürgerkriege, politische Verfolgung, ökologische Katastrophen und wirtschaftliche Not verstärkt. Die Einwohner der wirtschaftlich weniger entwickelten Länder sehen in der Migration eine Chance auf bessere Lebens- und Arbeitsbedingungen. Die Einkommensdifferenzen zwischen den Ländern und Regionen stellt einen großen Anreiz für eine verstärkte Mobilität der Arbeitskräfte dar. Länder wie Deutschland steht durch das hohe Lohnniveau verbunden mit einem hohen Arbeitslosenversicherungsniveau praktisch einem unendlichen Angebot an Immigranten gegenüber. Zugleich existiert in vielen wirtschaftlich hoch entwickelten Ländern das Problem umfangreicher und dauerhafter Arbeitslosigkeit, vor allem im Bereich der ungelernten Arbeitskräfte. Aus diesem Grund lehnen beispielsweise Gewerkschaften die Zuwanderung von gering qualifizierten Arbeitskräften ab, da befürchtet wird, dass die bereits bestehende Beschäftigungsprobleme durch die Verdrängung einheimischer ungelernter Arbeiter durch Immigranten verstärkt werden. Daneben bestehen Befürchtungen bezüglich weiterer negativer ökonomischer und sozialer Folgen einer hohen Zuwanderung, z.B. die Überlastung des Sozialsystems, die Veränderung der Gesellschaftsstruktur oder sozialer Unfrieden Diese Arbeit untersucht anhand eines wissenschaftlichen Modells Reaktionen einer Gewerkschaft auf Immigration. Weitergehend wird untersucht, welche Strategien sich für eine Regierung empfehlen, um eine optimale Zuwanderungpolitik zu erreichen.
