Ob es sich um die beiden großen norwegischen Mathematiker Niels Henrik Abel und Sophus Lie handelt oder um die Maler Anders Monsen Askevold und Edvard Munch oder um die Polarforscher Fridtjof Nansen und Roald Amundsen, sie alle werden in ihrer Jugend, im Alter von 13 bis 17 Jahren, mit einem Ereignis konfrontiert, das ihren weiteren Lebensweg entscheidend beeinflusst. Das gilt ebenso für den größten norwegischen Komponisten Edvard Grieg, den Sprachforscher Ivar Aasen und den Märchensammler Peter Christen Asbjørnsen und auch für die Schriftsteller Henrik Wergeland, Henrik Ibsen, Jonas Lie, Bjørnstjerne Bjørnson, Alexander Kielland, Knut Hamsun und Sigrid Undset.
About the Author: Peter Wenners, geboren 1950 in Kiel, studierte Germanistik, Geographie, Skandinavistik und Kunstgeschichte an der Christian-Albrechts-Universität in Kiel und promovierte im Fachbereich Sprachwissenschaft. Nach seiner Tätigkeit als Lehrer für Deutsch und Geographie an Gymnasien in Lübeck und Heikendorf leitete er 22 Jahre lang das Gymnasium Altenholz. Seit seiner Pensionierung 2016 engagiert er sich als Leiter der Juniorakademie der Länder Schleswig-Holstein und Hamburg für besonders begabte Schülerinnen und Schüler in St. Peter Ording. Der Arbeitsschwerpunkt des Autors liegt auf der Geschichte seiner Heimatstadt und Schleswig-Holsteins sowie Norwegens. Sein besonderes Interesse gilt dem 19. Jahrhundert.
