Neue Fertigungstechnologien, zunehmender Wettbewerbsdruck und kürzer werdende Produktlebenszyklen zwingen die Unternehmen zu mehr Kosteneffizienz bei gleichzeitiger Beachtung der Kundenbedürfnisse. Vor allem Branchen mit hohem Gemeinkostenanteil sind betroffen, weil die Gemeinkosten aufgrund der genannten Entwicklungen zunehmen. Mit Target Costing tritt die Marktorientierung und die Kostenbeeinflussung in den frühen Phasen der Produktentwicklung in den Vordergrund. Das gesamte Unternehmen wird auf den Markt ausgerichtet, die Produkte so gestaltet, wie die Kunden es wünschen, und die Kosten entsprechend geplant und so weit wie möglich reduziert. Der hohe Gemeinkostenanteil der indirekten Leistungsbereiche des Unternehmens verlangt nach einer Neuorientierung und Einbeziehung dieser Kosten. Mit Hilfe der Prozesskostenrechnung können diese Gemeinkosten besser erfasst, verrechnet und gesteuert werden. Die Prozesskostenrechnung kann in dieser Hinsicht dem Target Costing als Unterstützung dienen, nicht nur um die Kosten richtig abzubilden, sondern ebenso um die Kosten zu reduzieren und so marktgerecht zu gestalten. Die Marktausrichtung des Target Costing beinhaltet aber nicht nur die Ausrichtung auf den Endverbraucher, sondern auch auf die Zulieferer. Diese müssen frühzeitig in den Target Costing-Prozess mit einbezogen werden. Das Wertkettenmanagement nach Porter zeigt in diesem Zusammenhang mit Hilfe der Prozesskostenrechnung Schnittstellen zwischen Aktivitäten nicht nur innerhalb des Unternehmens sondern auch zu Aktivitäten des Zuliefererbetriebes auf. In der vorliegenden Veröffentlichung werden zunächst das Kostenmanagement und das Wertkettenmanagement nach Porter als Ausgangspunkt der Arbeit vorgestellt. Anschließend werden die Instrumente Target Costing und Prozesskostenrechnung ausführlich dargestellt. Im letzten Schritt wird die Prozesskostenrechnung in Verbindung mit Target Costing gebracht. About the Author: Nadine Schröter wurde 1985 in Halle (Saale) geboren. Nach dem Abitur und einem Auslandsaufenthalt begann sie im Jahr 2005 Betriebswirtschaftslehre an der Martin-Luther-Universität Halle-Wittenberg zu studieren. Im Laufe ihres Studiums eignete sie sich Wissen vor allem im Bereich Controlling an. Bereits während des Studiums sammelte die Autorin praktische Erfahrungen auf diesem Gebiet. Das Thema des vorliegenden Buches weckte besonderes Interesse bei der Themenrecherche für die Diplomarbeit. Das Diplomstudium schloss die Autorin Ende 2009 erfolgreich ab.
