Relato de un maravilloso viaje a través de la península itálica, que se da a conocer en estas páginas, luego de que el autor visitó lugares que le atraparon por su belleza arquitectónica, pictórica y escultórica y que, además, nacieron en ellos algunos personajes de talla universal que dejaron para la posteridad obras importantes: Roma, Florencia, Rávena y Venecia son cuatro de los lugares elegidos que fueron visitados con entusiasmo por el autor, debido a que en ellos se conservan obras importantes del arte universal. No obstante que el tiempo destinado para la visita a cada uno de estos lugares fue limitado, se logra presentar en estas páginas una visión detallada de algunos monumentos, esculturas, pinturas y lugares históricos que le llamaron la atención al autor, tratando de sacarle jugo a su estancia en los cuatro lugares mencionados: en Roma tuvo el privilegio de permanecer extasiado ante la escultura original del Moisés de Miguel Ángel Buonarotti, visitar la célebre Capilla Sixtina y detallar la alegoría del Juicio final; entra al Coliseo romano, visitando otras obras que se ubican en diversos lugares de esta Ciudad Eterna. En Florencia, cuna del Renacimiento italiano, entra a la imponente catedral gótica de Santa Maria del Fiore, del siglo XIII, visita La Plaza de la Señoría con el Palacio Viejo (Palazzo Vechio) y La Academia de La Galeria donde tiene, lo que él llama "el privilegio", de caminar en torno a la colosal escultura original del David, también de Miguel Ángel Buonarotti, visitar el Palacio de Los Uffizi, el grandioso edificio de El Baptisterio de San Juan (siglo XII), que conserva bellísimos murales, la iglesia de Santa Croce, donde se conservan las tumbas de hombres célebres italianos y otros sitios de interés. En Rávena visitó el mausoleo donde se conservan los restos mortuorios del poeta italiano Dante Alighieri, sitio que anotó el autor en su Agenda de Viaje, como visita primordial, por su gran admiración hacia este poeta medieval. Y en Venecia, visita al Café Florian, fundado en 1720, mencionado por el autor en uno de sus libros; visita el Palacio de los Dogos, los cuatro caballos dorados cuyos originales se conservan protegidos en un compartimiento interior de la Catedral de San Marcos y otros sitios de interés. El relato de este viaje es un documento valioso para las personas que viajan con el propósito de conocer algo fuera de lo rutinario.
