Öffentliche Wissenschaftskommunikation ist ein aktuelles Thema geworden. Die Wirtschaft entdeckt Wissen als die knappe Ressource und die Politik legitimiert immer komplexere Folgen. So verwundert es nicht, dass eine wachsende Zahl von TV-Magazinen versucht, Wissenschaft öffentlich zu vermitteln. Jutta Milde setzt sich mit dieser Vermittlung grundlegend und systematisch auseinander. Die Wirkung von Wissenschaftsangeboten wird experimentell - prüft. Die Frage lautet: wie beeinflussen verschiedene Darstellungsvarianten von TV-Wissenschaftsfilmen, die derzeit in der Bundesrepublik Deutschland weit verbreitet sind, die Verstehensleistungen der Zuschauer. Zum Verstehensbegriff wird ein facettenreiches Spektrum eröffnet, das von der Hermeneutik bis zum kognitiven Lernen, Bild- und Textverstehen reicht. Angesprochen sind also Konzepte, die die Kommunikationswissenschaft eher selten behandelt. Diese münden in einem eigenständigen Modell und einer komplexen Untersuchungsanlage. Die Ergebnisse dieser Arbeit führen dann auch auf der Grundlage ihres kognitionspsychologischen Ansatzes und ihren 'holis- schen', realitätsnahen Treatments zu neuen und anschlussfähigen Erkenntnissen. So baut beispielsweise das gerade von der DFG bewilligte Projekt in Jena/ L- dau "Verstehen wissenschaftlicher Evidenz in Medien und Rezipientenframes am Beispiel von TV-Wissenschaftsmagazinen" auf den theoretischen Implikationen von Jutta Milde auf. Die diesem Buch zugrunde liegende Dissertation wurde an der Friedrich- Schiller-Universität Jena angenommen und im Jahr 2009 mit dem Promotio- preis der Fakultät für Sozial- und Verhaltenswissenschaften ausgezeichnet. Georg Ruhrmann Vorwort Diese Publikation stellt die leicht überarbeitete Fassung meiner Dissertation dar, die ich im August 2008 an der Sozial- und Verhaltenswissenschaftlichen Fak- tät der Friedrich-Schiller-Universität Jena eingereicht habe.
About the Author: Jutta Milde promovierte bei Prof. Dr. Georg Ruhrmann am Lehrstuhl Grundlagen der medialen Kommunikation und Medienwirkung der Universität Jena. Sie ist Wissenschaftliche Mitarbeiterin am Institut für Kommunikationswissenschaft der Universität Jena.
