About the Author: Firstly, I am not a writer; I am a singer-and that is my passion. But this story was one that needed to be told, so for the first time in my life, I put on the hat of an author ... and here we are. I was born in Utah; raised in Idaho. I currently reside in the glorious mountains of Northern Utah- where I intend to stay. It is a perfect fit for me. Throughout high school I participated in every musical event possible. It was about that time I met the famous opera singer Hans Gregory Ashbaker. I took voice from him for one short summer, but it set me on a path that I have yet to wander away from. Later, I was privileged to take lessons, again, from Weber State University professor Karen Brookens Bruestle for about another four months. I make mention of these brief experiences simply because my voice is purely a gift from God. All that I have created, accomplished, and become is due to Him. By nature, I am a poet-and a lyricist. My first exposure to singing publically was in church. At age 12 I was asked to participate in a quartet-I did not even know what that meant at the time, but I did it, and I loved it. I sang in every school choir and show I could, but never pursued singing as a career until 2013-the year before I was diagnosed with cancer. It only slowed me down; it certainly did not conquer my spirit. I am happily and gratefully married to Mike, who has stood unwaveringly by my side through everything imaginable. And to his credit, he is still here, ever blessing my world. He is unbelievably supportive in my musical ventures, encouraging me every single day. My dad always said, "Marry a man who makes you laugh every day." Dad, I did, and you were right. Between Mike and I, we have five living children (there is a story there for another day). My hobbies include singing, hiking, serving others, photography, and writing poetry, reading, dreaming big and watching those dreams come into fruition. I love God. I love Jesus Christ. I would be nothing without them. I love people, especially those who are working to make a difference in the world, which is a huge part of living life to its fullest. Recently I was able to compile a team of incredibly talented and giving people who helped me produce a selection of music videos-but stay tuned, there are many more to come!
