The main theme of the proceedings of the 4th International Conference on Teacher Education and Professional Development (InCoTEPD 2019) is ''Teacher Education and Professional Development in Industry 4.0. The papers have been carefully grouped under the subthemes of teacher education and professional development, curriculum, learning materials, teaching-learning process, technology and media, and assessment in Industry 4.0 education. They also cover vocational education in the era in question and one section is devoted to Industrially disadvantaged societies. As these papers were presented at an internationally refereed conference dedicated to the advancement of theories and practices in education, they provide an opportunity for academics and professionals from various educational fields with cross-disciplinary interests to bridge the knowledge gap and promote research esteem and the evolution of pedagogy.
About the Author: Ashadi is a senior lecturer in the English Department, Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta. Previously working in a private university, he earned his Doctor of Education from The University of Melbourne, Australia in 2014. His research interests are teacher professional development, teacher education, academic writing, and qualitative approaches. He is currently the language service coordinator in the university's graduate school and also managing a newly-established journal in language teaching studies namely Lingua Pedagogia.
Joko Priyana is a curriculum consultant to the Ministry of Education and Culture since since 2000. He completed his Ph.D. at Macquarie University and his M.A. degree at University of Canberra. He has also been active in developing books for junior and senior high school students in Indonesia and various teacher development programs in the ministry of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia. His research interests lie in the areas of TEFL, Applied Linguistics, ESP, and curriculum and materials development.
Basikin currently works as an excecutive secretary for the Rector of Yogyakarta State University since 2017. He obtained his undergraduate degree in English Education (1998) from Yogyakarta State University and his master degrees in Experimental Phonetics (2001) from Leiden University, the Netherlands and in Teacher Professional Development (2008) from Monash University. He received his Ph.D in 2016 from Monash University. His research interests include teacher professional development, teacher motivation, self-efficacy beliefs, autonomy, and welbeing.
Anita Triastuti is a senior lecturer at the Department of English Language Education, Yogyakarta State University. She earned her Ph.D from Macquarie University, Australia. Her dissertation focuses on the exploration of Indonesian EFL teachers' conceptualizations of pedagogical content knowledge as represented in their instructional curriculum design and practice. Her research interests include TEFL, Teacher-Training, Teacher Education, Curriculum and Materials Development.
Nur Hidayanto Pancoro Setyo Putro is a senior lecturer of English Language Education Study Program, Faculty of Languages and Arts, Yogyakarta State University. He obtained his Ph.D from The University of New South Wales, Australia. He focuses on research, assessment, and program evaluation. He is also interested in conducting research under the issues of English Language Teaching and Educational Psychology. In addition, he has been active in doing community services on relevant fields such as Test of English Proficiency/TOEP in some senior high schools.
