From a broken home, crippled by abuse and addiction Montana Wilese was forced to grow up rapidly. Often left alone to make decisions, she had to be savvy enough to navigate her way through the roughest streets of Philadelphia. She learned quickly how to hold her own, as she made a name for herself. Montana wanted so desperately to be adored by her mother and loved by her father, but lacking both she turned to outsiders for guidance. Being plagued with confusion, frustration, despair and anger at such an early age, she vowed that she would make it out.
However the more she was pulled in one direction the firm grip of her environment pulled her in another. Before she knew it she had become a mastermind and in love with the life of crime, when she had promised herself to be better than her family and neighborhood. The once sweet beautiful young child was now a stranger and what lived in her was a cold calculating soul. The rage and venom was built up and so deep that there was a daily battle going on inside her mind. Montana was not poor financially, but the decisions she made would cost her gravely. Will Montana began to fully accept who she was becoming? Being taken in by some of the most ruthless murderers and drug lords, has Montana found her home? Is it in her blood? She looked in the mirror and saw the darkness of her eyes, knowing there was no turning back.
About the Author: Immediately after high school, Jena studied business and economics at Temple University in Philadelphia. While at Temple, Jena began to further craft her career as a poet by studying under the likes of Sonia Sanchez. She began writing poetry and songs at the age of twelve. Eventually, this led to her birthing her musical talent - as a writer and performing as an artist. Jena toured the world with many influential musical artists before the age of twenty, in which, she landed a major recording deal with super producer, Rodney Jerkins. After impressing Rodney in an impromptu performance at his recording studio, Jena was immediately signed to Rodney's Dark Child Label in 2001 as an artist formerly known as Pain.
Jena gained musical exposure and wrote for several artist. Soon thereafter, Jena realized that her heart was no longer in the music industry. She desired for something more fulfilling by way of giving back to the community. In 2011, she started her own non-profit organization Urban Angel Foundation to do just that. Jena also formed several networking groups on Facebook now totaling close to 10,000 people. Through social networking she was able to host world class events in the tri-state area. She coined it Bringing love back to the heart of the city. Through this initiative she was able to establish deep human connections that powerfully transformed the hearts and minds of thousands of people while inspiring the community and community leaders.
Jena is dedicated to helping every man, woman and child become the best person they can be through the development of different programs, mentoring and organizations. Her passion for creative writing continues as she embarks her new path as an author releasing her first book A Struggle Within.
