About the Book

IT BEGINS WITH AN INCREDIBLE DISCOVERY

A three thousand year old scroll written by a famous king has been unearthed in a cave in the Holy Land. The ancient scroll consists of lessons in advanced skills in human observation and lie detection. Daniel Jacobson was trained in these skills where he put them to use as an Israeli intelligence operative and then as an anti-terrorist/crime investigator for the world's most secure airline. During his watch there were 312 attempts by people wanting to fly into Israel to commit terrorism or another crime. He exposed and neutralized all 312. No would be perpetrator ever even got to step foot on an Israeli plane.

Daniel's nearly superhuman skills of observation and lie detection made him a force to be reckoned with by anyone looking for trouble. Years later as he surprisingly begins a vocation as a priest in the Catholic Church, he discovers that trouble doesn't have to look for him; it always knows where he is!

A DIFFERENT KIND OF EVIL

When San Francisco residents Henry and Julie Kramer buy the old abandoned Miller House in the rural town of San Juan Bautista, the real estate developers can't wait to begin restoring the hundred year old house which is surrounded by beautiful open country and prime farmland. But there is a dark history to the Miller House and it isn't long before their enthusiasm turns to sheer terror as horrible apparitions, murder and other sinister deeds manifest themselves in the old Miller House. Who or what is behind all this?

Legendary abilities like Daniel's made Israel's security defenses impenetrable and were unbeatable in neutralizing evil schemes. But can even these abilities be enough to put an end to the evil hiding in the shadows of the old Miller House?

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Ephrain Tristan Ortiz is a Doctor of Christian Education, 6th degree Black Belt and Biblical Hebrew teacher who has been a mystery fan since he got a Sherlock Holmes book in the mail at age ten. He discovered a love for story telling back then, something he used to help the days pass by faster for himself and his Catholic school classmates for eight years. He noticed that his young peers enjoyed his stories the most when they were action-packed, creepy, funny and inspiring while maintaining an attitude of respect and clean fun. Decades later, his stories still contain these characteristics and always will.
