About the Book

Avec ce septième volume de la publication des archives des seigneurs de Lanet, nous entrons dans la période Jean Barthe, des années 1762 à 1772. De nombreux documents concernent une procédure en justice faisant suite à un différent entre Jean Barthe et sa belle-mère Jeanne de Donnadieu, portant principalement sur diverses créances laissées impayées par cette dernière. Héritier de son père Joseph Barthe, fermier des terres du seigneur de Bugarach, Jean Barthe aura également à régler différentes affaires en suspens sur ce territoire (entre autre l'affaire l'opposant à Paul Tiffou, meunier de Salsignes et Jean-Paul Cartade, ancien meunier de Bugarach). Mais ses seigneuries de Lanet et de Montrouch l'occuperont également avec de nombreux litiges dont le point de départ est l'usage abusif des coupes effectuées dans les bois (bois de Montrouch en 1768, bois de Lanet en 1770). Une procédure a pris une importance particulière. Celle entamée en 1766, et poursuivie jusqu'en 1772, à l'encontre d'Étienne Pech, meunier de Lanet, portant principalement sur le droit d'arrosage accordé à ce dernier. Une vingtaine de folios sont consacrés à cette procédure. Une autre procédure, introduite en 1765, contre les habitants de Montjoi, fera l'objet d'une publication dans le prochain volume. La masse de documents la concernant, environ 130 folios, nécessite en effet à elle seule un volume entier. Une visite et l'établissement d'un plan seront effectués à cette occasion. mais nous en reparlerons.
About the Author: Francis Barthe, enseignant, a entamé la publication intégrale des archives des seigneurs de Lanet, dont le fonds est en possession de sa famille depuis des générations. Il publie aujourd'hui le volume septième, après avoir présenté un premier volume retraçant l'histoire du village de Lanet, et présentant quelques genéalogies de familles locales, et six autres volumes de documents.
