In un ambiente di lavoro preda di potenti e raccomandati, presto Gianni Rogges capisce di non avere alcuna prospettiva di carriera, né di crescita personale o professionale nell'ente statale in cui presta servizio. Per favorire la carriera del solito figlio di, Gianni viene sottoposto al più oltraggioso e spudorato atto di emarginazione sul lavoro: viene rinchiuso in una stanzetta e, senza poter svolgere alcun incarico o mansione, viene costretto al più asfissiante abbandono. Poi arriva il successo e, come in un sogno, i suoi scritti lo portano a cambiare vita: lascia il lavoro e si trasferisce a vivere fuori Roma in una grande casa con un po' di terra intorno. Con la bella moglie Teresa e con la figlioletta Luna comincia la sua nuova vita da uomo libero e di successo. Ma il destino di Gianni è segnato. Un'ombra spaventosa emerge dal passato di Teresa per avvolgere nel proprio gelido manto le vite di queste tre persone ignare, forse troppo sicure di sé e della propria fortuna. L'esistenza di Gianni precipita in un vortice di odio e di follia che lo trascinerà ad affrontare con la medesima determinazione l'angoscia della detenzione e l'eccitazione della vendetta portandolo, profondamente trasformato nell'anima e nella psiche, a rinunciare a tutto pur di battersi con implacabile freddezza contro un demone perverso e spietato.
About the Author: Massimo Lodato, palermitano, classe 1971. Nel 2011 ha pubblicato - senza pagare - il romanzo "Luna" con l'Editore Colombo di Roma; nel 2014 si è classificato finalista al Premio Letterario Città di Ciampino con il romanzo "Rogges"; nel 2016 si è classificato finalista al Premio Letterario Internazionale Città di Castello con il romanzo "Una supplica dalle tenebre". Da giugno 2014 si è trasferito con la Moglie e i figli a New Westminster, incantevole e tranquilla cittadina della Lower Mainland nella splendida British Columbia.
