Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2005 im Fachbereich Soziologie - Arbeit, Ausbildung, Organisation, Note: 1,0, Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin (Institut für Sozialwissenschaften), Veranstaltung: Einführung in die Bildungssoziologie, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Nachdem das Thema der soziale Ungleichverteilung von Bildungschancen nach den Jahren der Bildungsexpansion in Vergessenheit geraten war, wurde durch die PISA-Studie (Programme for International Student Assessment) die Diskussion am Ausgang des 20. Jahrhunderts neu belebt, denn in "(...) allen PISA- Teilnehmerstaaten besteht ein Zusammenhang zwischen sozialer Herkunft und erworbenen Kompetenzen. Dieser ist jedoch in keinem Land enger als in Deutschland" (PISA-Konsortium 2003: 57). Sogar bei identischen Leistungen sind die relativen Chancen eines Kindes aus der Oberschicht ein Gymnasium zu besuchen in Deutschland drei Mal höher als die für ein Kind aus der Arbeiterschicht (ebenda). Die Aufgabe des ersten Teils dieser Arbeit soll es sein die Mechanismen darzustellen, die Individuen schichtspezifisch verschiedenen Bildungseinrichtungen zuordnen wie sie Pierre Bourdieu und Jean Claude Passeron in den 1960er bis 1980er Jahren anhand der französischen Gesellschaft studierten. Dazu werden zunächst die zwei grundlegenden Forschungsarbeiten der Autoren vorgestellt. Zum ersten "Les Héritiers: Les Étudiants et la Culture" (im Deutschen: "Bildungsprivileg und Bildungschancen") eine Arbeit, die bereits 1964 in Frankreich erschien und sich vor allem mit den Ausmaßen der Ungleichheit der Bildungschancen an Universitäten befaßt. Und 2. "La Reproduction: Eléments pour une Théorie du System d'Enseignement" (im Deutschen: "Die Aufrechterhaltung der Ordnung") von 1970 (Goldschmidt 1971: 8/9). Der zweite Teil dieser Arbeit beschäftigt sich mit der aktuelleren Forschung und ihrer Beziehung zu den Ansätzen von Pierre Bourdieu und Claude Passeron.
