Es gibt, wie in den meisten Bildern der langen Reise, sehr viel Melancholie. Das erste Bild im ersten Raum zum Beispiel heißt: Die Traurigen summen ihre Lieder. Sterben ist Fakt Du wirst sterben. Keine Lüge wird dich retten, und kein Glaube wird dir helfen. Sterben ist kein gestreiftes, vermutetes Wissen. Sterben ist Fakt. Du stirbst, und nichts wird der helfen, und nichts von dir bleiben. In den Zeiten der Not Erinnerungen an den kühlen Norden, an Regen und Pappel, Weiden und Espenlaub. Du musst sehr alt werden, um den Wert deiner Kindheit zu erkennen. Heißwind und Eiswind Die Tiere sterben in Scharen, und niemand ist, welcher sich ihrer erbarmt. Nur die Aasfresser haben eine gute Zeit. Sie haben blutige Schnauzen, und sie fressen sich fett. Heißwind und Eiswind bringen auch Eremias und Babuun in ein große Not. Insbesondere Eremias scheint die Kontrolle über sein Denken und Tun zu verlieren. Er tanzt und singt, und verschüttet die Reste des Wassers. Der Sinn auf das Sein bezogen Der Mensch gibt seinem Leben, seinem Tun, seinem Fühlen und Denken usw. einen Sinn, welcher auf sein kurzes Leben bezogen ist, auf die Gegenwart oder auf eine nahe Zukunft. Das wird sich ändern. Weit Zurückliegendes und die ferne Zukunft werden wichtig. Von allen Trieben befreit Immer wieder wirst du in die weiten Felder des animalischen Seins abgedrängt. Instinkte und Triebe trieben und treiben dich weg vom losgelösten Denken. Sie treiben und drängen dich hin zum Tier. Die Menschen sollten das Tier überwinden. Kann das gelingen? Eher wohl nicht. Angst, Flucht, Angriff, Fortpflanzung, Hunger und Durst ... alles wird wohl so bleiben, wie es ist. About the Author: Biographisches Ich gehöre in den Jahrgang 1939. Ich bin gelernter Geologe. Ich habe in vielen Ländern dieser Welt gearbeitet. Mein Fachgebiet ist Hydro-Geologie. Es geht um Grundwasser-Erkundung und Grundwasserförderung. Ich habe etwa 25 Jahre in den semiariden Gebieten in Schwarzafrika gearbeitet, größtenteils in Sambia, Botswana und Malawi.
