«La poesía metafísica y amorosa de Francisco de Quevedo (1580-1645) excede toda dinámica que la escritura de su tiempo había impuesto: su retórica muestra la intimidad de los sentimiento del poeta y una angustia que se acerca al dolor existencialista del hombre contemporáneo. Quevedo fue valorado como pensador humanista y original conceptista. Sus invenciones verbales, su perspectiva ideológica y sus expresiones novedosas --que renovaron la herencia de la poesía petrarquista y la tradición del Cancionero-- fueron intensamente glosadas por los poetas del siglo XX. En este estudio, Alejandra Echazú Conitzer reúne un enorme cuerpo crítico, clásico y renovado, en torno a Quevedo y sus diálogos con poetas del siglo XX. El ensayo comienza en los albores del siglo con las lecturas quevedianas de Rubén Darío, se intensifica en un análisis de la Generación del 27 y se concentra luego en el peruano César Vallejo. El diálogo poético se abre a Borges, Paz, Neruda, acabando en la primera década del siglo XXI con el mexicano José Emilio Pacheco. Transversales en estos encuentros poéticos están los conceptos de afecto y sinceridad, así como de tropos del Barroco y el Romanticismo resignificados en la Modernidad; entre otros, el tema de la muerte que trasciende la vida». Alejandra Echazú Conitzer (La Paz, Bolivia). Doctorado y Maestría en Literatura (University of Maryland). Licenciatura en Literatura (UMSA). Postgrados en arte, educación superior, lengua y literatura alemanas. Ha publicado artículos y estudios sobre literatura y arte en libros, revistas y periódicos en español e inglés, además de traducciones literarias del alemán. Coautora, con Yolanda Bedregal, de Historia del Arte para niños (Plural Editores, La Paz, 2009). Coeditora de Cuentos de Walter Montenegro (Ed. Plural, La Paz, 2018) y Obra escogida de Yolanda Bedregal (Biblioteca del Bicentenario de Bolivia, La Paz, en prensa). Docente en las Universidades UMD (Maryland), UMSA y UCB (La Paz). Directora del Departamento de Cultura y Arte en la Universidad Católica Boliviana «San Pablo», Unidad Académica Regional La Paz; a su cargo están los talleres de expresión artística, el centro de edición y escritura y el área de enseñanza de materias de formación humanista, así como investigaciones en culturas, patrimonio y humanidades.
