Inhaltsangabe: Einleitung: Der Umgang mit behinderten, entwicklungsgestörten und verhaltensauffälligen Kindern ist Bestandteil beruflichen Alltags in Einrichtungen der Kinder- und Jugendhilfe, in Kindertagesstätten und Schulen. Hier sehen sich Pädagogen tagtäglich mit einer Fülle von Problemen konfrontiert, deren Entstehung ihnen oft unverständlich erscheinen und mit deren Lösung sie sich häufig überfordert fühlen. Sie benötigen daher ein ständig aktualisiertes theoretisches und methodisches Wissen, um die schwierigen Anforderungen bewältigen zu können. Nun weiß ich aus Berichten von Lehrern aus Integrationsklassen, dass es häufig weniger die behinderten, als vielmehr die entwicklungsgefährdeten Kinder sind, die aufgrund sozialer oder psychischer Probleme zu aggressivstem Verhalten neigen und oft große Schwierigkeiten haben, sich in den Ablauf der Schule einzufügen. Im Mittelpunkt sozialer Arbeit steht immer die Begegnung von Menschen. Sozialarbeit wird ihrem Auftrag nur gerecht, wenn diesem Aspekt die nötige Aufmerksamkeit geschenkt wird, geht es doch in ihren Arbeitsfeldern nicht zuletzt auch um pädagogische Prozesse. Für erfolgreiches Denken und Handeln müssen daher zwei Voraussetzungen erfüllt sein. Erstens muss man über klare Zielvorstellungen verfügen: Der sozial Handelnde muss möglichst genau wissen, was er mit seinen Bemühungen erreichen möchte. Sonst bliebe er orientierungslos und hätte auch für die Angemessenheit seines Handelns keine Bewertungskriterien. Zweitens braucht man ein detailliertes Gegenstandsverständnis, d. h. für mich, klare, umfassende und möglichst erschöpfende Vorstellungen davon zu haben, an dessen Veränderung man interessiert ist. Man muss also wissen, nach welchen Regeln und Gesetzmäßigkeiten es „funktioniert". Welchen Beruf auch immer Menschen ausüben - setzen wir es als selbstverständlich voraus, dass sie etwas davon verstehen - wir erwarten, dass sie über klare und brauchbare Vorstellungen von ihrer „Materie" verfügen.
