Wie schon aus dem Titel hervorgeht, verfolgt die Arbeit hierbei jedoch keineswegs das Ziel, einen umfassenden Überblick über die mit der Gruppenarbeit verbundenen Schwierigkeiten zu bieten. Dies hätte, allein schon aufgrund des begrenzten Umfanges einer Arbeit dieser Art, zur Folge, daß die einzelnen Bereiche nur unzureichend beleuchtet würden. Hingegen soll es Ziel dieser Arbeit sein, einige ausgewählte Aspekte der schulischen Gruppenarbeit auf einer möglichst breiten Argumentationsbasis zu erörtern, um auf diese Weise zu einer begründbaren Einschätzung der mit ihnen verbundenen Problemlagen zu gelangen. Die Arbeit folgt hierbei in weiten Teilen der "Gruppenpsychologie für Erzieher, Lehrer und Gruppenleiter" von Arne Sjolund, die einen umfassenden Überblick über die Problematik der Gruppenarbeit bietet. In einem ersten Kapitel soll der Frage nachgegangen werden, wie eine positiv wirkende Leitung einer Gruppe gestaltet sein sollte. Hierbei soll in einenem gesonderten Abschnitt auf die Problemlagen eingegangen werden, die mit der Übertragung der Gruppenleitung auf einzelne Schüler verbunden sind. In einem zweiten Teil soll untersucht werden, welche Auswirkungen die Anzahl der Gruppenmitglieder auf die Ergebnisse der Gruppenarbeit hat, um auf diese Weise zu einer Einschätzung der idealen Gruppengröße zu gelangen. Der letzte Abschnitt ist schließlich der Frage gewidmet, welche Schwierigkeiten mit der Gruppenzusammensetzung verbunden sind. Auch hier soll eine Einschätzung der am sinnvollsten erscheinenden Vorgehensweise gegeben werden.
