Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2014 im Fachbereich Didaktik - Französisch - Literatur, Werke, Universität Trier, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Die Bestimmung, auf die Meursault wartet, ist sein nahender Tod an der Guillotine. Im Angesicht seiner drohenden Hinrichtung scheint er befreit von allen irdischen Zwängen und ihnen gegenüber gleichgültig: eine absurde Situation. Der Mord wird von ihm als zufällige Situation beschrieben und entzieht sich jeder Logik. Meursault wird sich bewusst, dass er zwar früher als andere sterben wird, dies jedoch in einer sinnentleerten Welt sowieso keinen Unterschied machen werde. Ein Mord ohne Vorsatz ist für die Gesellschaft aber unbegreiflich, die Philosophie des Absurden schwer zu verstehen. Es ist u. a. das Mysterium des Menschen in einer gleichgültigen Welt, das Camus ersten Roman "L'Étranger" von seiner Veröffentlichung im Jahr 1942 an bis heute zu einem seiner meist verkauften Exemplare macht. Die Philosophie des Absurden 'verwehrt' sich gewissermaßen ihren Lesern, "il résiste à ses lecteurs" Sie erlaubt keine allgemeingültige Interpretation. "L'Étranger" verschaffte Camus einen kometenhaften Aufstieg als Autor zwischen Philosophie, Literatur und Journalismus, bis zur Publikation von "L'homme revolté". Mit seiner Kritik am Repressionssystem der Sowjetunion wurde er von der politisch Linken geächtet, vom Comité National des Écrivains (CNE) sogar ausgeschlossen. Während der 1950er Jahre schrieb Camus gewissermaßen allein gegen alle anderen und argumentierte vor allem gegen seinen Rivalen Jean-Paul Sartre. In Frankreich harsch kritisiert, bekam Camus außerhalb Frankreichs als Schriftsteller und Moralist hohe Anerkennung zugesprochen, die 1957 in der Verleihung des Literaturnobelpreis mündete. Die Philosophie des Absurden von Camus ist heute, 62 Jahre später, aktueller denn je. Das Individuum beschäftigt sich in der stark vernetzten, globalisierten und technisierten Welt noch dringlicher mit der Frage nach dem Sinn bzw. der Sinnlosigkei
