Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2014 im Fachbereich Soziologie - Individuum, Gruppe, Gesellschaft, Note: 1,3, Hochschule Coburg (FH), Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Der amerikanische Psychologe Carl Ransom Rogers ( 1902 -1987 ) begann ab 1942 den personenzentrierten Ansatz zu entwickeln; der Terminus " personenzentrierter Ansatz" geht aus der Übersetzung des englischen Terminus "personcentered approach" hervor. Der "personcentered approach" kann am Besten mit " personenzentrierter Annäherung, Herangehensweise oder auch personenzentrierter Zugang" in die deutsche Sprache übertragen werden um den Wert, den Rogers hiermit vermitteln wollte, greifbar zu machen. Dies soll verdeutlichen, dass es in allererster Linie die personenzentrierte Haltung und Einstellung ist, welche zu positiven Wirkungen und Verhaltensänderungen durch den Kontakt zwischen Klient und Berater führt. Nach Peter F. Schmid sind es letztlich die "Begegnungen von Person zu Person" und nicht etwa die angewandten Methoden, die für die Entwicklung und Veränderung des Gegenübers verantwortlich gemacht werden ( Schmid 1995, S. 175). Für Rogers war es eine sehr wichtige Erkenntnis, dass die jeweilige Person tief im ihrem Inneren weiß, was wirklich wichtig für sie ist und was sie folglich im Gespräch für sich benötigt. Ein zentraler Punkt in Rogers Forschung, welchen er bei all seinen Konzepten, die er in seiner Forschungskarriere entwickelt hatte, immer wieder betonte, war die Beziehung zwischen dem Berater und dem Klienten. Für Rogers stellte diese Beziehung eine spezielle zwischenmenschliche Beziehung dar und keine hierarchische Therapeut - Klient Beziehung in welcher die Beziehung letztlich als Mittel zum Zweck verstanden wurde um Diagnosen stellen zu können. Die therapeutische Beziehung der Beratung beruht auf den Basisvariablen der Echtheit, Kongruenz und der unbedingten Wertschätzung.
