About the Author: James David Audlin est un auteur américain qui habite en Panama, depuis habiter en France. Il était un ministre d'églises, un professeur à l'universitaire, et un éditeur de la page opinion d'un journal. Son livre le plus fameux est "Le Cercle de la Vie". Il a écrit une douzaine de romans, quelques collections de contes et pièces de théâtre, un livre de poésies, un livre d'éssais, et un livre sur ses expériences en Panama. Fluent en beaucoups de langues, il a traduit son roman "Rats Live on no Evil Star" en français ("Palindrome") et espagnol ("Palíndromo"). Il est encore un musicien professionel qui compose, chante, et joue beaucoups d'instruments, mais non usuellement à la fois. Sa femme est une panamienne qui ne peut pas lire anglais, et puis est felicitement ignorant de ses livres étranges. Mais sa fille et son fils, qui vivent en Vermont, É.-U., vivent en peur chaque fois que l'un de ses livres nouveaux apparaît.
