Según Pitágoras y Euclides, el ojo emanaba un haz de rayos que chocaba con los objetos: la realidad podía verse porque era tocada por esos rayos que regresaban de vuelta al ojo. Demócrito, por el contrario, pensaba que las cosas irradiaban imágenes inmateriales que entraban al ojo a través de la pupila. Más conciliadoramente, Platón estaba convencido de que algunos rayos partían del ojo, pero otros partían del sol. Si las teorías de la antigüedad son sólo anécdotas para la historia de la medicina, para poetas como Jorge Cadavid mantienen la vigencia de la que gozaron en sus mejores momentos. Los ojos deseados se propone como una fascinante teoría de la visión. Cada uno de sus poemas es un breve estudio donde la sabiduría de la mirada responde a la exigencia de la mejor poesía: la de hacernos ver el mundo de un modo diferente. Las visiones de Jorge Cadavid no apuestan por un misticismo idealista, sino por un realismo radical y sin aspavientos. About the Author: Jorge Cadavid, Pamplona (Colombia), 1962. Estudió Lingüística y Literatura en la Universidad de su ciudad natal, se especializó en literatura en la Universidad Javeriana de Bogotá donde ha sido profesor durante varios años y se doctoró en Filosofía en la Universidad de Sevilla, España. Es autor de siete volúmenes de poesía: La nada (Universidad de Antioquia, 2000), Un leve mandamiento (Trilce, 2002), Diario del entomólogo (Eafit, 2003), El vuelo inmóvil (Premio Nacional de Poesía Eduardo Cote Lamus, Universidad Nacional, 2003), El derviche y otros poemas (Los Conjurados, 2006), Herbarium (Literalia, 2011) y Tratado de cielo para jóvenes poetas (Premio Nacional de Poesía Universidad de Antioquia, 2008). Publicó una antología de su poesía bajo el título de Música callada (Universidad Externado de Colombia, 2009) y una antología del poema breve titulada Ultrantología (Universidad de Antioquia, 2003).
