Masterarbeit aus dem Jahr 2007 im Fachbereich BWL - Unternehmensführung, Management, Organisation, Note: 1,6, Steinbeis-Hochschule Berlin (School of Management and Innovation), Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Seit einigen Jahren kommt es zu einem dramatischen Umsatzrückgang und einer hohen Veränderungsdynamik in der bisher überwiegend auf den Verkauf von Tonträgern konzentrierten Musikindustrie. Trotz rückläufiger Absatzzahlen von CDs kann davon ausgegangen werden, dass mehr Musik als je zuvor gehört wird. Durch die Digitalisierung und das Internet hat das Kultur- und Konsumgut Musik erheblich an Relevanz gewonnen. Insbesondere die traditionellen Marktteilnehmer stehen vor der Herausforderung, in diesem Umfeld innovative Geschäftsmodelle zu finden, die den geänderten Lebensgewohnheiten der Musiknutzer entsprechen und ihnen gleichzeitig das wirtschaftliche Überleben sichern. Im Rahmen dieser Arbeit werden unter Verwendung des 5-Kräfte-Modells von PORTER die Triebkräfte für die gegenwärtige und zukünftige Wettbewerbsintensität in der Musikindustrie untersucht. Basierend auf der beschriebenen Markt- und Wettbewerbssituation werden durch die Operationalisierung des Komparativen Konkurrenzvorteil-Konstruktes (KKV) von BACKHAUS/SCHNEIDER wichtige Kompetenzen für die Erlangung eines Wettbewerbsvorteils in diesem Markt abgeleitet. Auf Basis der Wertschöpfungskette werden die bedeutendsten Marktteilnehmer identifiziert und in fünf strategische Gruppen mit ähnlicher Ressourcenausstattung und Marktbearbeitungsstrategie zusammengefasst. Bei den strategischen Gruppen (Technologieanbieter, Musik-Communities, Major-Labels, Endgerätehersteller und Online-Musikservices) wird die Ausprägung der erarbeiteten Kompetenzanforderungen zur Erzielung von KKVs analysiert und bewertet.
