Dazu wird die folgende Forschungsfrage gestellt: Welche Chancen und Risiken ergeben sich im Rahmen des Network Marketings für Vertriebspartner? Um die Forschungsfrage zu beantworten, wurden qualitative Experteninterviews mit Vertriebspartnern durchgeführt, die in unterschiedlichen Network Marketing-Unternehmen tätig sind. Network Marketing bietet Menschen eine Möglichkeit sich mit geringem Risiko und ohne hohe Investitionen selbstständig zu machen. Die Tätigkeiten können zeitlich und örtlich unabhängig ausgeführt werden, was zu einer großen Freiheit der Vertriebspartner führt. Weiterhin können sich diese ein eigenes Vertriebsnetzwerken aufbauen und dadurch passives Einkommen generieren. Vertriebspartner sollten sich allerdings bewusst sein, dass die finanzielle Unabhängigkeit im Network Marketing nur vereinzelt erreicht wird und neun von zehn Vertriebspartnern scheitern. Weitere Risiken sind manipulativer Druckaufbau, die Gefährdung von sozialen Beziehungen sowie finanzielle Verluste. Das zeigt, dass mehr Transparenz und klare Regulierungen seitens des Gesetzgebers entscheidend wären, um das Potenzial dieser Vertriebsform besser zu nutzen und den wachsenden Mitgliederzahlen im Network Marketing in Deutschland gerecht zu werden.
