My book is about a woman with many emotional traumas about the lost of her children from a previous marriage, the death of her father, and in the process of a divorce from her husband of twelve years. He travels extensively for his job and she finds herself alone in a foreign country as an expat must of the time. As a consequence of the distance, they experience emotional detachment and lack of communication.
He made excuses not to attend her father's funeral which deeply hurt her feelings, and brought much anger into her life.
She was unable to be present when her father passed on while living in Dubai, which made her feel quilt and anger; she then settles all the emotions by connecting to herself and returning to her passion for writing.
After twelve years of marriage, she felt that something was missing in her life and she had to find it. When they finally get divorced, she begins to explore all of her talents, painting, writing, dancing and traveling.
Despite all her efforts to move on after her divorce, she finds herself stock in Dubai without much hope and friends to relay on.
She returns to the US where she meets an Italian man who reminded her of her ex-husband. In her relationship with him, she finds that he is the perfect image of her ex-husband. She felt as if the spirit of her ex-husband has return to hunt her as a ghost.
During her meditation, she can see the image of the man from India she so much admire not knowing that this feelings she is experiencing is nothing more than the ghost of her ex-husband.
One day, she seeks out to continue her dream of publishing a book about the power of the mind were she finds the courage to succeed and move on with her life. She leaves the past behind her and finds true love.
Today, Leilani is sixty five years old, and has published five books and continues her creative passion for writing.
About the Author: Leilani was born in the mountains of the Dominican Republic, A salt producing town. Her step father whom she barely knew used to work for the salt mine industry. Her mother was a young girl who got pregnant by a very popular Dr. in a small town.
When she was only thirteen years old, she developed a high sense of intuition. Although she was young, she had a certainty about where her life was going, what she wanted and how she was going to get it. After two failed marriages, enduring the loss of three premature babies, at the age of sixty, she decided not to let life take her by the tail. She took a journey into the unexpected future without fear of what might happen.
Leilani, loves to dance, she loves music, the theater and anything to do with performance. She spends many evening watching movies to learn from the acting, and cardiograph. Leilani is sixty five years old and her figure can matched up to any young girl today. She is a vegetarian, and follows a rigorous diet.
Many wonder where she gets her energy. Her beliefs that the body needs proper nutrition not a lot of food came from having to learn discipline after the loss of her babies. She had difficulties learning, but taught herself how to write and learn different subjects. She never wasted time, for her, time was important because the more she learns, the more she could talk about it. God knows she love to talk about anything! Her need to learn was develop after she became afraid to take test. She took it upon herself to learn about any topic of interest to her, like science, physics, and poetry.
