About the Book

A chain-smoking, menopausal Cherokee; a middle-aged has-been rodeo rider; and a runaway, learning disabled teenage girl are brought together by destiny and set out upon a journey that teaches them to love, to trust, and to believe in the unbelievable. Ramona Raven is Cherokee and determined to find redemption from a past in which she allowed men to make all the decisions, often with disastrous results. When she dreams of a wild gray stallion, she believes the horse is the key, and find him she must, but in order to do so, she is going to need help. Enter Austin Cahill, a cowboy who is trying to escape memories of the Huntsville Prison Rodeo and another gray stallion, one that destroyed the only thing he had left-his ability to ride any horse breathing. Austin, along with Killian Russell, the teenage runaway he is harboring from the law and passing off as his daughter, join forces with Ramona and embark upon a journey that will change their lives and change them forever. For as they travel from the rolling hills of Georgia to the sun-blasted landscape of Utah in search of Ramona's wild horse, these three misfits, each desperately trying to outrun the past, ultimately learn that the past is exactly that-the past-and all that really matters is today.
About the Author: A native of Fairburn, Georgia, a small town southwest of Atlanta, Carol Culver Rzadkiewicz resides in Lafayette, Louisiana in "The Heart of Cajun Country," with her husband, Chet, and their three animal companions. An online instructor for the University of Phoenix, she is also a freelance writer, but writing fiction is her passion. Her short stories have appeared in Santa Fe Writers Project Literary Journal, South Lit, Toasted Cheese, and The New Review, among other publications; and to date her novels include not only Mustang Summer but also Objects Are Closer than They Appear and Separate but Equal. Moreover, an eclectic writer, who doesn't want to be associated with any particular genre, she has recently published a horror novella, The Dark Woods, and a horror story, which is actually a sequel to the novella, "The Runner."
