About the Book

The Millennial generation, people born between 1984 and 2000, is the most unique and promising generation to ever enter the workforce. What defines this 80-million strong generation? * Technology is part of who they are * They believe in social responsibility over corporate profits * Work/life balance is more important than work * They prefer instant recognition to formal, written recognition * They have more tattoos than previous workers What does this mean for Corporate America? Organizations will need to change the way they do business if they are going to attract and retain these new workers. Companies must understand the differences among the four generations currently in the workforce. Experienced managers must update their motivational and leadership strategies to get the most from this expanding workforce. That is the objective of The Millenniall Challenge: How to Unleash Today's Young Talent--to help managers get the most from their new Millennial workers. These new employees have a unique approach to work and if managed and motivated properly, can have a tremendous impact on business. On the other hand, if you stick with traditional management practices, you just might find your Millennials seeking greener pastures with your competitors!
About the Author: After earning a Bachelor's degree in Marketing from the University of Tulsa, Darren embarked on a career that has crossed several industries as well as continents. Darren's early career was in the IT industry selling advertising and marketing services to some of the IT industry's biggest players including Dell Computer and Compaq Computer (now known as Hewlett-Packard). Darren left the IT industry to partner with two friends, starting a training company based Southwest Airlines principles. After a successful launch, Darren and his family felt called to give a little back to society so they moved to Sofia, Bulgaria, where Darren became headmaster of a small English-speaking school. Four years later, Darren and his family returned to the U.S. and founded NexGen Leadership, a nonprofit organization dedicated to teaching leadership and life skills to high school and college students. While still leading NexGen, Darren later joined a leading auto finance company, first as Director of Employee Development and then transitioning to VP Culture & Engagement. After spending two years with this organization, Darren was driven to launch yet another new business, ProCulture Consulting which he still leads today. Darren is uniquely qualified to write and teach about the Millennial generation. Darren is the father of three Millennial boys, has worked with many Millennials, and studies the Millennial generation as part of his NexGen work. Whether working with managers or talking to directly to Millennials, Darren's entertaining and personable style allows him to connect and engage with his audience. His inspiring messages will motivate employees to work hard and perform at their greatest ability. For more information about Darren and ProCulture Consulting, visit www.procultureconsulting.com.
