About the Book

Youssouf amine Elalamy est un auteur marocain, né le 20 novembre 1961 à Larache, il est l'auteur de plusieurs livres dont cinq romans:
Un Marocain à New York, (EDDIF,1998)
Les Clandestins, (Eddif 2000/Au diable Vauvert 2001 et c'était la première publication d'un auteur marocain chez cet éditeur. C'est un livre qui a reçu le Prix grand Atlas 2001 puis prix de plaisir de lire 2010.
Paris mon bled, Eddif, 2002.
Le journal de YAE, Hors champs,2003.
Miniatures, Hors champs,2004.
Tqarqib Ennab, Khbar Bladna,2006, ouvrage publié en dialecte marocain.
Nomade, un roman dans la ville(Rotterdam, Rabat, Copenhague 2009).
Oussama mon amour, la croisée des chemins,2001.
Ensuite, en septembre 2003, il publie le journal de YAE, édition Hors champs, Bordeaux, un receuil de textes inspirés par les événements du 16mai à casablanca.
Youssouf Amine Elalamy est également l'auteur de plusieurs articles sur l'image, la photo, la mode, parus aussi bien dans la presse nationale que internationale.
Ecrits en français, les livres de Youssouf Amine Elalamy ont été traduits en Arabe, Anglais, Espagnol, Allemand, grec et hollandais, et certains ont donné lieu à des projets artistiques. A l'instar de l'adaptation musicale de Paris mon bled, l'exposition Miniatures ainsi que le projet un roman dans la ville qui met en scène Nomade le roman d'Elalamy et l'oeuvre Tqarqib ennab montée en pièce de théâtre.
Depuis septembre 1985, Youssouf Amine Elalamy est professeur de l'enseignement supérieur à l'université Ibn Tofail de Kenitra(Maroc) où il enseigne la stylistique, les médias et la communication au sein du département d'Anglais. Il est titulaire d'un doctorat d'état en communication.
En 1991, il obtenait une bourse fulbright pour effectuer un travail de recherche sur le discours publicitaire. Affilié à la N.Y.U(New York University), il suit en parallèle une formation en conception rédaction à la F.I.T(Fashion institute of Technology) et la Parsons School of design.Après un séjour de trois ans à New York, il retourne au Maroc et publie son premier livre: Un Marocain à New York.
Depuis, il vit à Rabat. Outre le Grand prix Atlas 2001 et le Prix Le plaisir de lire qui a obtenus pour son roman Les Clandestins, Youssouf Amine Elalamy a reçu en 1999 le Prix du meilleur récit de voyage décerné par le british Council International pour ses écrits en anglais.
YAE est membre fondateur et actuel secrétaire général du centre Marocain de Pen Club International.
L'ambivalence romanesque est à la fois sémantique et sociale des caractères, des actions et des énonciations finit par ébranler la causalité narrative.
Il faut supposer que la causalité narrative sera ébranlée dans une situation où il est impossible de définir de manière univoque les traits de caractère, les actions et les paroles.

Dans les oeuvres d'Elalamy, ce n'est pas seulement la structure narrative qui devient problématique; la position du sujet (de l'énoncé et de l'énonciation) devient également précaire avec la disparition du narrateur omniscient ou naïf. Le narrateur moderne s'interroge sans cesse sur les rapports entre son discours et la réalité qui à chaque instant peut lui échapper.

Les questions kafkaïennes qui suis-je ? Qui est-il ? Où est la réalité, la vérité ? Tendent à se substituer aux questions traditionnelles: que fera-t-il comment réagiront-ils ? des questions qui présupposent des caractères, des actions et des paroles assez clairement définis.
