About the Author: Frank Höchsmann, nacido en Hermannstadt/Sibiu, es licenciado en economía empresarial y auditor de calidad. A mediados de los setenta dirigió un hotel de tamaño medio cerca de Colonia, Alemania. Hasta finales de los ochenta fue jefe del departamento de turismo de una universidad de ciencias aplicadas en Bogotá, Colombia. En los noventa fue responsable del departamento de formación de la Asociación de Hoteles y Restaurantes de Uruguay AHRU. Durante este tiempo, él y su esposa Martha Cecilia Lozano publicaron varios libros sobre gestión de hoteles y turismo. Desde 2001 Frank Höchsmann vive nuevamente en Alemania. Aquí registró junto con su esposa Martha la empresa de servicios HOTQUA(R) (hotel tourism quality), que está especializada en la educación y la formación, así como en la implementación de las normas de calidad y la gestión de la calidad. Frank Höchsmann forma parte de la junta directiva de la Asociación de Turismo de Berlín-Reinickendorf desde hace varios años.
