Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2019 im Fachbereich Weltgeschichte - Frühgeschichte, Antike, Note: 2,0, Christian-Albrechts-Universität Kiel, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Seine wohl bedeutsamsten Taten vollbrachte Marcus Agrippa als oberster Feldherr und Flottenkommandeur. Viele Schlachte (einige davon werden in dieser Arbeit dargestellt) konnte er durch seine besonderen Fähigkeiten für sich entscheiden. Die wohl bedeutsamste seiner Seeschlachten schlug er 32 v.Chr. bei Actium. Als Kommandeur der Seeflotte Octavians war der Sieg über die Flotten von Marcus Antonius und Kleopatra seinem Kommando zu verdanken. Im Zusammenhang mit dem Verlauf dieser Schlacht ist die Rolle Agrippas besonders interessant. Obwohl die Protagonisten Octavian, der spätere Kaiser Augustus, und Marcus Antonius, der Besetzer des Ostens und Geliebter der ägyptischen Königin Kleopatra, anwesend waren, kämpfte Agrippa mit seinem Flottenverband gegen diesen Marcus Antonius5. Dieses Geschehen erscheint auf den ersten Blick doch sehr irritierend. Aus welchem Grund kämpften nun also nicht Octavian und Antonius gegeneinander? Sah Antonius Agrippa wohlmöglich also gefährlicher an? Woher rührte dieser ersichtliche Vorrang Antonius' für Agrippa? Diese Fragen werden im Verlauf dieser Arbeit untersucht und beantwortet. Als Hauptquellen sollen hierfür die Schriften von Cassius Dio, Plutarch und Appian genutzt werden. Literarisch hat sich vor allem Johannes Kromayer schon Ende des 19. Jahrhunderts dezidiert mit der Schlacht auseinandergesetzt. Diese Inhalte hat Dewid Laspe genutzt und an den Geschehnissen der Seeschlacht weiter erforscht. Mit den Taten des Agrippa hat sich vor allem Reinhold genau befasst, wodurch seine Werk für diese Ausarbeitung sehr wertvoll ist. Inhaltlich geht es anfangs um die Darstellung der Person Marcus Agrippa und die Zeit vor der Schlacht. Anschließend wird die Rolle Agrippas innerhalb Streitigkeiten zwischen Antonius und Octavian beleuchtet. Da die Schlacht bei Actium in Kern dieser A
