Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2006 im Fachbereich Germanistik - Komparatistik, Vergleichende Literaturwissenschaft, Note: 1,7, Eberhard-Karls-Universität Tübingen (Deutsches Seminar), Veranstaltung: Seminar: Poetiken der Décadence, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: 1 Einleitung In der zweiten Hälfte des 19. Jahrhunderts bestanden in Europa mehr oder weniger nebeneinander unterschiedliche literarische Strömungen. Darunter gab es den Naturalismus und die dekadente Strömung. Beide entwickelten sich zunächst in Frankreich und breiteten sich danach allmählich in ganz Europa aus. Ansonsten waren diese Strömungen sehr verschieden, wenn nicht gar gegenläufig. Beide benutzten zur Verwirklichung ihrer Konzepte höchst unterschiedliche Formen und Mittel. In beiden existierte jedoch die Gattung des Dramas, auch wenn der Naturalismus diese Gattung auch um einiges mehr beanspruchte als die Décadence. Ziel dieser Arbeit ist es zunächst zu erarbeiten, welche Rolle das Drama in der jeweiligen literarischen Strömung spielte und welche Funktionen es übernahm und welche Formen es in Folge dessen hatte. Dabei wird der Begriff der Paradigmatisierung, der für die dekadente Dichtung zentral ist, eine wichtige Rolle spielen. Das Ergebnis der Paradigmatisierung des Dramas ist das dekadente lyrische Drama, mit dem sich diese Arbeit, so weit es die Décadence angeht, beschäftigen wird. Leider kann an dieser Stelle nicht auf Richard Wagner und sein Konzept des Gesamtkunstwerks eingegangen werden, das ebenfalls einen großen Einfluss auf die dekadente Literatur ausübte. Obwohl die Konzeptionen des Naturalismus und der Décadence sehr unterschiedlich sind, gibt es literarische Werke, in denen Merkmale beider Strömungen zu finden sind. Eines dieser Werke ist das Drama "Der Kirschgarten"1 (1903) von Anton Čechov (1860-1904).
