About the Author:

Emily Lubkert is an elementary teacher who has worked in New York City and Chicago. She has studied gifted education from Duke University, where she also completed her undergraduate studies. She holds a master's degree in instructional leadership from the Harvard Graduate School of Education, where she focused on urban education, teacher leadership, and instructional improvement through teacher collaboration.

Frances A. Karnes is professor of curriculum, instruction, and special education at The University of Southern Mississippi. She is widely known for her teaching, research, publications, innovative program developments, and service activities in gifted education and leadership training.
