John Maynard Keynes war nicht nur einer der einflußreichsten Ökonomen seiner Zeit, sondern auch eine schillernde Persönlichkeit. Er verstand es, geschickt hinter den Kulissen der Weltgeschichte zu agieren. In dieser Biographie schildert Marie-Antoinette Gall anschaulich seinen Lebensweg und die Entstehung seiner Theorien. Bezugnehmend auf sein näheres Umfeld und auf die großen Veränderungen in der Weltgeschichte, erfährt man nicht nur Altbekanntes, sondern auch zahlreiche interessante Fakten über den Privatmann Maynard Keynes - von seiner Schulzeit in Eton über die Zugehörigkeit zu geheimen Societies in Cambridge bis hin zu seiner Freundschaft zu Virginia Woolf und anderen berühmten Persönlichkeiten seiner Epoche. Die Autorin: Marie-Antoinette Gall begann nach einer abgeschlossenen Banklehre ein Studium der Betriebswirtschaftslehre an der Fachhochschule München. Während des Studiums arbeitete sie mehrere Monate an der Hochschule St. Gallen als wissenschaftliche Assistentin im Institut für Medien- und Kommunikationsmanagement. Nach ihrer Rückkehr an die Fachhochschule München folgten zahlreiche Auslandsaufenthalte vor allem in England, zunächst in Birmingham und anschließend in Cambridge, dem Geburts- und akademischen Wirkungsort John Maynard Keynes. Nach erfolgreichem Abschluß des Studiums und Berufserfahrungen im Bereich der Werbung und des Marketings verfaßte sie diese Studie über Leben und Werk von John Maynard Keynes.
