About the Book

If someone could tell you when you were going to die, would you want to know? If you could tell someone else, would you? Meet Matt Briswell, loser and loner, trying to make the best of the rotten hand he's been dealt, picking up odd jobs on the fringes of the criminal underworld. With no job, no money and no girlfriend, Matt is reduced to eating dry cereal and stealing food from local shops. When you're at rock bottom, the only way is up, right? One day, a chance encounter leads Matt to wonder whether his luck might be about to change. With the prospect of a job and even a new relationship, it seems that somebody is looking after Matt. Things are on the up until a hit and run threatens to destroy everything. But sometimes blessings come in unlikely disguises. When Matt comes round, he finds he has an uncanny new ability. As he comes to realise just what he can do, he sees an opportunity to turn his life around. But will he turn in the right direction? This is speculative fiction at its best - a story that will make you think, even as it entertains.
About the Author: David was born in the heart of London 1957, the only son of middle class working parents, themselves both North Londoners. They moved from Euston Road in Kings Cross to the growing town of Goodmayes, but moved to East Anglia when David was a teenager. He completed his education in Gorleston before joining the civil service in the form of H.M. Customs & Excise in 1973. After nearly 40 years of service he retired in 2012. He has been writing seriously since 2000 when a football injury left him with time on his hands. David has always been imaginative and enjoyed writing. He is interested in social aspects of future earth societies rather than space travel and alien life forms. He is also interested in time travel too, but his novels are diverse and not easy to categorise, featuring romance, drama and crime. David has always written in various forms, including poetry, short stories and plays as well as novels but until recently his writing always had to be fitted in around full-time work. He now lives with his second wife Louise and her son in Lowestoft with the ability to devote more time to writing.
