Doktorarbeit / Dissertation aus dem Jahr 2004 im Fachbereich Ingenieurwissenschaften - Bauingenieurwesen, Note: "-", Eidgenössische Technische Hochschule Zürich (Versuchsanstalt für Wasserbau, Hydrologie und Glaziologie (VAW)), Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Impulswellen werden hauptsächlich in Alpenrandseen, Stauseen und steilufrigen Meeresbuchten durch eintauchende Fels- und Bergstürze, Erdrutsche, Uferinstabilitäten, Schneelawinen und Gletscherabbrüche generiert. Derartige Wasserwellen ereignen sich daher oft unerwartet und stellen eine bedeutende Naturgefahr dar, weil sie oftmals ganze Uferbereiche verwüsten oder an Talsperren überschwappen. Aufgrund der steilen Uferpartien, geringen Seebreiten, potentiell grossen Rutschmassen und der andererseits vielfach exponierten Lage von Siedlungen und Wasserbauwerken ist das Risiko von Impulswellen im Alpenraum besonders hoch. Die Generierung von Impulswellen im Eintauchbereich des Rutsches und deren Propagation im Nahbereich der Wellengenerationszone wurden in einem zweidimensionalen physikalischen Modell untersucht. Die massgeblichen Rutscheigenschaften wie Form, Volumen und Eintauchgeschwindigkeit wurden durch einen Pneumatikgenerator mit eingebauter Rutschbox gesteuert, welche die granulare Rutschmasse in einen rechteckig-prismatischen Wellenkanal beschleunigte. Die Effekte der Eintauchgeschwindigkeit, der Rutschmächtigkeit, der granularen Rutschmasse und der Ruhewassertiefe auf die resultierende Impulswelle wurden unabhängig voneinander untersucht. Einzig der Eintauchwinkel α = 45° längs der Hangneigungsrampe des Rutsches und der granulare Korndurchmesser wurden nicht variiert. Die Wellenprofile wurden von sieben kapazitiven Wellenpegeln aufgenommen, welche längs der Kanalachse in konstantem Abstand hintereinander angeordnet waren. Das turbulente Dreiphasengemisch aus Luft, Wasser und eintauchendem Granulat in der Wellengenerationszone wurde mithilfe von Particle Image Velocimetry (PIV) festgehalten, einer nicht-intrus
