Bankim Chandra Ray

A dedicated academician with more than three decades of experience, Bankim Chandra Ray currently holds a full professor position at the National Institute of Technology, Rourkela, India. He has been awarded PhD from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur, India in 1993. Apart from instructing students in the field of Phase Transformation and Heat Treatment, he has also guided several PhD scholars. He has made seminal contribution in the field of field of Phase Transformation and Heat Treatment and composite materials.

An adept administrator, he has also served as the incumbent Dean of Faculty Welfare, Head of the Department of the Metallurgical and Materials Engineering department and Coordinator of Steel Research Center at NIT Rourkela.

His research interests are mainly focused on the mechanical behavior of FRP composites. He is leading the Composite Materials Group at NIT Rourkela, a group dedicated to realizing the technical tangibility of FRP composites (https: //www.frpclabnitrkl.com). With numerous highly cited publications in prominent international journals, he has contributed extensively to the world literature in the field of material science. He also holds a patent deriving from his research. He has collaborated actively with several coveted societies such as the Indian Institute of Metals, Indian National Academy of Engineering. As an advisor to New Materials Business, Tata Steel Ltd., he has been instrumental in facilitating the steel honcho's foray into the FRP Composites business.

Dibyaranjan Rout is currently working as Associate Professor at School of Applied Sciences (Physics), Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT) Deemed to be University. He has been awarded PhD degree in Physics from Indian Institute of Technology Madras, Chennai-36 in 2006. Following his PhD, he worked as Research Assistant Professor at Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology, South Korea from 2006 to 2011. Apart from teaching UG/PG students, he has guided several PhD and Master Students. His research interest lies in the frontier fields of Functional materials (lead-free piezoelectric and multiferroic materials), Nanoparticle synthesis and Polymer nanocomposites for energy and environmental applications. To his credit, he has published 50 research articles in international journals of high impact and presented more than 100 papers in international/national conferences. He has active collaboration with researchers of several premier institutes in India and Abroad

Kishore Kumar Mahato has been working as Assistant Professor at Vellore Institute of Technology, Vellore, India since June 2019. He has completed his PhD from National Institute of Technology, Rourkela, India on the topic Environmental durability of multiscale glass fiber/epoxy composites: An assessment on mechanical properties and microstructural evaluation under the supervision of Professor Bankim Chandra Ray. He has published around 20 research articles in different SCI and Scopus indexed journals and 2 book chapters. His current research work is focused on failure and fracture behaviour of fiber reinforced polymeric composite in different harsh environments. Investigations are focused on the assessment of mechanical behaviour of environmentally conditioned FRP composites through experimental and numerical analysis. Primarily, the polymer matrix and the existing fibre/polymer interface are susceptible to harsh and hostile in-service environments which can alter the durability and integrity of fibrous polymeric composites.
