About the Book

From virtual assistants to social robots, people are increasingly interacting with intelligent and highly communicative technologies throughout their daily lives. This shift from communicating with people to communicating with people and machines challenges how scholars have theorized and studied communication. About the Author:

Andrea L. Guzman is an assistant professor of communication at Northern Illinois University where her research focuses on human-machine communication and artificial intelligence, the automation of journalism, and media representations of intelligent technologies.
