Good things happen to good people. When each parent takes ownership of his or her responsibility to help the child be successful in life, great things can happen. Children want to do good and please their parents. A word of encouragement from the parent like: "learn everything you can" or "do the best you can" when sending the child off to school; will go a long way toward putting the child on the right track. It does not matter what handicap the child happens to have. The parents' words will inspire the child to have a good attitude. When the child comes home from school and the parent shows interest by complementing him or her for trying and doing a good job; this will build the child's confidence, and inspire him or her to do better. It does not matter if the parent is not educated or handicapped somehow. What matters is that the parent shows his love for the child by encouraging him or her to do good. The child will follow that inspiration and come to school with a good attitude. With a good attitude, the child will focus, concentrate, not allow disruptions and become disciplined, and learn a lesson; learn respect, and build a library of knowledge. He or she will do this day in and day out and the process will become a habit to the child. He or she will apply this knowledge and become a skillful person. Because of the discipline, knowledge and skills; he or she will become a very confident and articulate person and leader. These leadership qualities will give the person the confidence to do a good job in whatever profession or occupation he or she finally chooses to enter.
About the Author: Bernard Martin (Barney) Coyle was born and raised in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Both parent were born and raised in Ireland. Barney was educated in the Philadelphia parochial schools - St. Francis Xavier and St. Clement, under the direction of the Sisters of the Immaculate Heart of Mary. He graduated from West Philadelphia Catholic High School for Boys, under the direction of the Christian Brothers. At Villanova University, under the direction of the Augustinian Fathers, he received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Economics with a Pre-Law Major. He received his Master of Science Degree in Business, with accounting emphasis from the University of Northern Colorado. He enlisted and served in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War. He and his wife Barbara Jo Allen Coyle are both retired and live in Highlands Ranch, Colorado. Their children are: Christopher, a daughter, Kelly Marie Coyle Wyngarden, and Matthew (wife Britney Macklem Coyle). Grandchildren: Ryan and Chase Wyngarden; and Emerson and Bowen Coyle.
