En su sutil novela corta, José A. Lagos Jiménez, hace un llamado a la conciencia y nos recuerda un evento histórico triste y muy sangriento que sucedió en China, el cual que no se debe olvidar. La Masacre de la Plaza Tiananmen fue una respuesta a una protesta en la República Popular de China (PRC) en 1989. También conocido como el Incidente del 4 de junio y movimiento democrático de 1989, ocurrió cuando varias oleadas de protestas en el transcurso de algunos meses llegaron a un punto crítico. Los estudiantes demandaban una reforma social para brindar mejores condiciones de empleo y oportunidades para la clase trabajadora. El movimiento que finalmente resultó en la masacre fue iniciado por estudiantes chinos, a quienes más tarde se les unieron ciudadanos chinos en la clase trabajadora.
