About the Author: "Cowboy" Chaplain Dann began as an abandoned kid, growing up in the Dust Bowl during the Great Depression. He then became a cowboy, until Pearl Harbor inspired him to join the Marines to fight the Japanese. After the war, he retuned along with tens of thousands of other vets-- but found his life was missing something. He met religious artist Jack Chick and became a lay minister to serve prisons, and started drawing his own home-made cartoon Gospel tracts (now treasured collectibles). Even today, Dann continues to help those in need and share his memories of the Greatest Generation with those who live in a radically different world.
