About the Book

Mike is a wannabe actor who is yet to make his acting debut in any sort of a capacity (Hence, wannabe. Ah, well-explained!) One fine day, some utterly horrendous thing occurs in front of his house (as they do), and Mike's fragent (that would be a friend and an agent rolled into one; who invented a word? I invented a word?) is interviewed as one of the witnesses by a local TV station (So far, so good. Could've been a bit better though. But such is life. It is what it is) This fragent fellow is the narrator of our story. (Is this relevant? To who? Is this the dreaded internal monologue that some people have? What do you mean 'some'? What's with the questions?) The fragent (coined the term!) sees the interview as a perfect opportunity to try to get Mike's name onto TV screens and into audience's collective mind. Rather inexplicably the segment does make it to air (Just because you can't explain something doesn't make it 'rather inexplicable'. Or does it? The answer to this question is rather inexplicable) At the time, Mike is rather ill-equipped for this development as he is just finding out that his only Acting Qualification (which he thought to be a five-year Acting course) was in fact a one-year course that he repeated 5 times over (It's crucial to have an inteeligent protagonist. Well, the Author knows the word 'protagonist', so at least the Author might not be super-dumb?) It is also a point of some concern that Mike's Acting Teacher Steve (a so-called consummate pro whose own acting career went nowhere fast) keeps the records only for those of his students who 'have at least some chance of going somewhere other than nowhere' and Mike didn't make it into that select group. However, Mike's name being mentioned on TV sets up a chain of events that leads Mike to a super-stardom status in an Acting capacity. Still without a single Acting credit to his name (Yes, re-state your faulty premise for no reason whatsoever) At one point it seems that Mike's acting career might just work out despite his overall lack of direction (and many and varied psychological disorders that are yet to be studied in their entirety) Fragent and Steve guide Mike on this quest to the best of their abilities. Except they don't know what they are doing either (Can't all be winners, huh?)
