Si el príncipe Hamlet revela su aciaga orfandad dialogando con la sombra paterna, en Extranjero, segundo poemario del venezolano Adalber Salas Hernández, asistimos al contrapunto de una voz desterrada para siempre, enfrentada al rumor de una memoria cautiva, abierta por relámpagos, que se propone merced a los hallazgos de lo poético, enseñar a la muerte cómo hablar. Dos cauces componen esta obra donde el autor se describe como un árbol que se incendia: aguda réplica verbal ante la partida de un ser-raíz y descenso sobre el cauce de una escritura iluminada con resonancias místicas, que conduce a esta pregunta aleteante: "¿A quién rezan estas páginas / sin decírmelo?" La interrogación fecunda este libro esencial, donde el lector puede contemplar su rostro en la nada que deja a veces la arquitectura quebrantada del poema -que semeja un muro perforado por neblinosas ventanas-, porque el profundo hacedor de este artilugio térreo, sabe que la pregunta es la única arma que le queda a los extranjeros de la realidad, es la brújula angustiosa de quienes avanzan en las tinieblas, desde que vivimos en un lenguaje de palabras agónicas. "Soy mi hijo, mi padre, mi madre... y yo", había dicho Antonin Artaud, pero aquí, corresponde a lo paterno inscribir su silenciosa disolución, llevándonos a un territorio lívido colmado de deslumbramientos, para que el enjambre de palabras que persigue al elusivo yo, pueda inscribir con la lucidez desolada del poeta nuestro más alto cuestionamiento existencial: "Cuando intente/ y no pueda/ recoger mi sombra/ ¿qué me quedará?" About the Author: Adalber Salas Hernández (Caracas, 1987). Completó estudios de Letras en la Universidad Católica Andrés Bello. Ganador del II Premio Nacional Universitario de Literatura con el libro La arena, el vidrio: ascenso en tres movimientos (Editorial Equinoccio, 2008). Es autor también de los poemarios Extranjero (bid&co. editor, 2010) y Suturas (bid&co. editor, 2011). Ha sido incluido en las antologías La imagen, el verbo (UCAB, 2006) y Antología de poesía joven venezolana (bilingüe árabe-español, Universidad Internacional Libanesa, 2009). Poemas y ensayos suyos han sido publicados en diversos medios como el Papel Literario, la revista digital El Cautivo y los portales Letralia, Prodavinci y Río Grande Review. Actualmente se desempeña como director de la colección Voces Iniciales, en la editorial bid&co.
