About the Book

ENDOSYM-The Dark Face of Evil is book one of a six series science fiction/fantasy thriller. The Endosym series takes place throughout a 30-year period and focuses on the Martin family who must battle ENDOSYMS-demonic possessed humans bent on enslaving mankind. In book one Hank Martin, his wife Lindsey and their teenage son Tim arrives in Liberia, West Africa where Hank will be the Defense Attaché to the American Embassy. What begins as the ideal tour for the Martins escalates into sheer terror when an incident from Hank's past haunts his dreams and becomes a reality. Hank is forced to choose between the interests of the United States as it negotiates for the vast oil reserves hidden beneath the Saint Paul River Delta and the destruction of an evil that permeates the Government of Liberia to the very doors of the President's office. This is a battle that, if Hank does not win, will cost him far more than his career; it will cost him the sacrifice of his son to the ENDOSYM-a creature that has hidden in the jungles of Liberia for centuries. About the Author: J. Henry Thomson spent more than three years in West Africa and lived twelve months in the jungles. He is a decorated combat veteran with service during both Vietnam and the Gulf wars. He has served in airborne and special operations units and has commanded soldiers from platoon to brigade. He has worked with the governments of Spain and Brazil on counter terrorism, mines and explosives; and with Delta Force and the Central Intelligence Agency. He lives with his wife in the State Washington. The premise of the series begins when Thomson acquired a small bronze statue found in a cave in the jungles of Liberia, West Africa. The old statue depicted a warrior holding a Stone Age ax and a spear. Its origin was unknown; however, that statue was more than just a man, it was a demon and a man. It was an ENDOSYM, two beings living in one body. Following the 1970 Liberian Coup Thomson was shown a site where high-ranking Liberian officials were conducting human sacrifices and worshiping a demon. From those two events and stories told around the campfires by indigenous Liberians about mysterious beings and lost cities, the die was cast for the ENDOSYM series.
