Niels & Sinnes Univers - En Hawstok Saga er slægtshistorien om vestkystparret Niels og Sinne, der gennem de sidste godt 300 år har magtet at fortælle og overbringe den spændende historie om deres liv og oplevelser gennem mange generationer, og hvordan de har formået at overleve i en umådelig barsk egn, og hvordan de her har opbygget det fremsynede fisker- og turistsamfund, man på vestkysten kender i dag. Første bog beskriver, hvordan Niels og Sinne i 1689, som de første indbyggere i det dengang sandflugtshærgede landskab, etablerede sig som de første indbyggere i landet mod nordvest, og hvordan de formåede at overleve som vestkyst fiskerpar, efter at de var blevet udstødt af det bonde- og landsbysamfund, de hidtil havde levet i. Selv om nærværende beretning grundlæggende er baseret på historiske facts, har formålet været at nedskrive "Den fortalte historie", den historie, der til dato ikke har været nedskrevet noget sted, men som Niels og Sinnes generationer har genfortalt i tællelysets, vokslysets og petroleumslampens skær på mørke vinteraftener, og hvis den ikke også fremtidigt bliver nedskrevet vil være i fare for at gå tabt for tid og evighed. Men måske er historierne alligevel nedskrevet. Især i de gamle håndskrevne protokoller og skrifter, ja, selv på gravstenene på kirkegårdene er Niels og Sinnes historie nedskrevet, men det kræver, at man kigger rigtigt godt efter mellem de skrevne linjer og samtidig benytter sin frie fantasi, så træder denne tekst og deres historie, der ikke umiddelbart er synlig, frem med flammeskrift. "Det er dette land, der er Niels og Sinnes land, egn og univers, og det er i et sådant univers, at fortællinger opstår, udvikles og overleveres fra generation til generation." Henrik Grønlund er født i København i 1956, men flyttede i 1965 sammen med sine forældre ud til vestkysten i Thy, til en gammel købmandsgård i et driftigt fiskerleje, hvor han stadig bor. About the Author: Henrik Grønlund er født i København i 1956, men flyttede i 1965 sammen med sine forældre ud til vestkysten i Thy, til en gammel købmandsgård i et driftigt fiskerleje, hvor han stadig bor. Selvom han er født i København, har han dybe rødder på vestkysten, hvor han har været i stand til at spore sin slægt tilbage til 1400-tallet, i egnen nord for Ringkøbing. Han har altid interesseret sig for vestkystens historier, og de mennesker der befolkede denne kyst. Henrik Grønlund har skrevet og instrueret flere skuespil, bl.a. et stort egnsspil om vestkysten.
