Egos are like farts! Truly. Don't you find it easier to tolerate your own than that of others? Isn't it easier to point out someone else's than it is to claim our own?! The similarities do not end there! This book is a comedic look at conscious living. Each chapter gives us another comical comparison and allows us to laugh at our egos - which in turn separates us from them, and in turn, just like releasing a fart, creates inner peace! Egos have been defined as our sense of self. Our self-esteem and self-image. How we see ourselves, distinct and separate from others. The ego in each of us prompts constant chatter, offering thoughts of either inferiority or superiority, self-loathing or self-righteousness. The ego thrives on identity in such. Without drama, either in our favor or not, the ego cannot thrive.The ego, however, is not WHO we are at the core. It is simply a piece of the human experience. I invite you to entertain the idea that our egos, neither good nor bad, just simply are. And though we may not be able or wish to separate from them completely, we can create distance from them by simply acknowledging them. It is in those moments that we experience inner peace. What better way to observe something, than with laughter as the immediate and end result? About the Author: Greetings! My name is StevieAnne Petitt. I am a wife, mother of two, comedic author and well, just your average fellow being. I believe that we are all connected. In the words of "Tool", I Know (capital "K) that "all matter is merely energy condensed to a slow vibration. That we are all one consciousness experiencing itself subjectively. There is no such thing as death, life is only a dream, and we are the imagination of ourselves." I believe that the ego simply "comes with the car". It is a part of our human experience. When I have practiced in fleeting moments to distance myself from the mind chatter that my ego offers, compassion and unconditional love shine through. I am aware that we are all One. Equally precious, priceless and perfect! Humor is, perhaps a gift, but if nothing else, it is the greatest expression of myself. I find laughter to be one of the most energetically-charged and productive healers of all. Aside from an aspiring TED talk and comedic coaching, I also use hypnotherapy (guided imagery) to assist others in bypassing the conscious chatter of the ego, and dig deep into the subconscious, where everything we have learned and behaviors and habits we have formed are stored. The ego is neither good nor bad. It simply is. Learning to laugh at it, as opposed to living for it is key to awakening! I believe in many of the works surrounding enlightenment, higher Selves, etc. My work is simply meant to lighten up enlightenment and make you human experience a little more "humor experience".
