Pranayama and Suryanamaskar play a vital role to maintain/improving the average
fitness of a person. Fitness is a general state of health and well-being. It is the ability of a
person to perform sports, occupational and daily activities. The most common way to
achieve physical fitness or to maintain/improve average fitness is a proper diet,
proper rest, sufficient physical exercise, and yoga. As far as yoga is concerned
Pranayama and Suryanamaskar are very important aspects of yoga and play a vital role to
achieve a good level of average fitness.
Suryanamaskar is not only an exercise or merely a yogasana, but it is also a
yogic practice / yoga-sadhana to improve the fitness level of a person. Also by practices
of Pranayama, one can absorb more oxygen and hence utilize the vital energy to a
maximum extant, due to which body cells work more efficiently results in increased
fitness, more strength, and less fatigue.
The purpose of the study was to find out the Effects of Pranayama and
Suryanamaskar and a combination of Pranayama and Suryanamaskar practice on average
fitness among school students. There are two objectives of the study. The first objective
of the study is to find out the Effects of Pranayama, Suryanamaskar, and a combination of
Pranayama and Suryanamaskar practice on average fitness among school students, and
the second objective of the study is to find out the superiority of the Effects of
Pranayama, Suryanamaskar and combination of Pranayama and Suryanamaskar practice
on average fitness among school students.
