About the Book

This book is the TV-serial format of my previously published book with the same name. TV serial formats of books are used principally by the directors. However, some readers have been found to like it because (a) it is concise and (ii) it gives wide scope to the readers for enjoying things by painting it with their imaginations. For that reason, this one may be taken to be an 'experiment to see the readers' reactions'. The story of 'Drum Lime Migration' is one of the most renowned 'pathetic true stories' where a greedy Muslim person murdered all members of a Hindu family of Bangladesh, such that he could grab and enjoy their landed properties In the ever-turmoiled country named Bangladesh there exist many such stories of religious persecution. The speciality was, it was the first case where the murderer used lime for quick decomposing of the carcass. Those were made into pieces, placed inside large drums and then dipped under deep water of the lake. Their following job was to preach the story that the 'family migrated to India after selling their properties'. The incident turned to the talk of the country under the name, the "Drum Lime Migration". The story however, endeavored to explore the political social and religious situations that could help in forming complex mentalities of men in the context of the then India. The story goes like his. Nazem was born in Bihar, India. He belonged to Islam religion. It was the religion of the people who conquered India in the 11th century. This religion also believed in conquering the entire world by their religious group. They used to train up their religious brethren to think others as enemies and to keep on always ready 'to tarnish the enemy.' The above mentality made their living difficult after India was liberated from the occupation of the British Royalty in 1947, and declared as a secular country. Nazem and his family migrated to East Pakistan that was created for the Muslims. The people of East Pakistan did not accept the domination of the West Pakistanis and they revolted. In order to avert the same, the Government of West Pakistan conspired. In course of time Nazem turned to their trusted agent. During the liberation war of Bangladesh (March 25-December 16, 1971) Nazem murdered, looted and did everything his masters wanted. After the defeated Pakistan army retreated, Nazem fell in great danger. At this time, he met a girl whom he knew well. She was the daughter of one of the richest Pakistani. They fled away from Dhaka city by changing their outfit. The family finally settled in a rural village where Nazem started working as a butcher. One day he was hijacked by a gang who used him in slaying the dead bodies of the members of a minority Hindu family. (This is the true story known as "Nidarabad incident" of Bangladesh). The dead bodies were placed in large drums along with Lime, such that those could decay earlier. Nazem was put in prison and released after a few years. The chief conspirator was hanged. The man disclosed that he did all in order to grab the landed properties of this family. After their 'disappearance' he could say that the family migrated to India. The novel "Drum Lime Migration" is written based on this true story. In July, 2018, PRIYA SAHA, a minority victim of Bangladesh appealed to US President Donald Trump to look into the pathetic condition of the Hindu minority community. She disclosed that 37 million minorities 'disappeared' from the country after its liberation. In the Cine-script, the above incident along with the socio-cultural life of Nazem has been exposed through several TV-serial interviews.
