Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2009 im Fachbereich Geschichte Europa - Deutschland - Nachkriegszeit, Kalter Krieg, Note: 1,7, Carl von Ossietzky Universität Oldenburg (Institut für Geschichte), Veranstaltung: Geschichtskultur, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: "Mit dem MfS entstand ein spezielles Organ der Diktatur des Proletariats, das in der Lage ist und über alle Mittel verfügt, unter der Führung der SED gemeinsam mit den anderen staatlichen Organen und bewaffneten Kräften und in enger Verbundenheit mit den Werktätigen die Arbeiter-und-Bauern-Macht und die revolutionäre Entwicklung zuverlässig gegen jede konterrevolutionäre Tätigkeit äußerer und innerer Feinde der DDR zu schützen sowie die innere Sicherheit und Ordnung allseitig zu gewährleisten." Diese programmatische Beschreibung des Ministeriums für Staatssicherheit durch dessen langjährigen Leiter, Erich Mielke, ist ein interessantes Zeugnis dafür, dass es in der ehemaligen DDR nur unter größten Gefahren möglich war, ein unbeschwertes Leben zu führen, in dem man frei von Zwängen seine Meinung äußern und dabei einen vielleicht kritischen Blick auf die Partei und das Land werfen konnte. Ganz besonders deutlich wird dieser Punkt wenn man sich fragt, inwiefern es für Mitarbeiter der Stasi möglich war neben der ideologischen Doktrin eine eigene Meinung zum System zu vertreten, die vielleicht nicht politisch oder ideologisch gefärbt war. Der deutsche Regisseur Florian Henckel von Donnersmarck nahm sich dieser Thematik an und drehte mit 'Das Leben der Anderen' einen Film, der genau ein solches Schicksal zu beleuchten versucht. Seine Hauptfigur, Hauptmann Wiesler, begegnet dem Zuschauer zu Beginn des Films als starres, von der Ideologie der Staatssicherheit durchdrungenes Instrument, welches im weiteren Verlauf des Films einen Wandel durchmacht. Alle gängigen Stereotypen der Stasi als perfides und verbrecherisch wirkendes Ministerium innerhalb der DDR finden Einklang in der Darstellung des Hauptmanns, der im Film einen Auft
