Die Untersuchung stellt die wichtigsten Bereiche der Allgemeinen Bestimmungen des georgischen Zivilgesetzbuches - Einführungsbestimmungen, Personenrecht und Rechtsgeschäftslehre - rechtsvergleichend vor. In diesem Rahmen erfolgt u. a. eine beispielhafte Einführung in das georgische Privatrecht. Die Regelungen des Zivilgesetzbuches werden dabei mit den Bestimmungen des Zivilgesetzbuches der georgischen SSR und mit den Kodifikationen der unmittelbaren Nachbarstaaten - der Russischen Föderation, der Armenischen Republik und Aserbaidschanischen Republik - verglichen. Darüber hinaus werden die von dem Gesetzgeber teilweise als vorbildlich angesehenen Bestimmungen der anderen kontinentaleuropäischen Zivilrechtskodifikationen bzw. rechtsvereinheitlichenden internationalen Regelungen zum Vergleich herangezogen. Die rechtsvergleichende Darstellung erfolgt mit dem Ziel, neben Art und Umfang des Einflusses der privatrechtlichen Kodifikationen anderer kontinentaleuropäischer Staaten den Entwicklungsstand der georgischen privatrechtlichen Regelungen darzustellen. Insbesondere wird untersucht, in wieweit sich das georgische Zivilrecht von den anderen einander sehr nahe stehenden postsowjetischen Rechtsordnungen abgetrennt und eigenständig herausgebildet hat. Der Gang der Darstellung lehnt sich eng am Aufbau des Allgemeinen Teils des georgischen Zivilgesetzbuches an.
About the Author: Der Autor: David Kereselidze wurde 1975 in Tbilissi (Georgien) geboren. Seine rechtswissenschaftliche Ausbildung erfolgte in den Jahren 1991-1996 an der Staatsuniversität Tbilissi. In den Jahren 1996-1997 absolvierte er den LL.M-Aufbaustudiengang in europäischen Rechten an der Universität des Saarlandes, wo er anschließend am Lehrstuhl für Europäisches Zivilrecht promovierte. Seit 1998 ist der Autor als Rechtsberater am Georgian-European Policy and Legal Advice Centre tätig. Er ist Mitbegründer und Leiter des LL.M-Studiengangs an der Staatsuniversität Tbilissi sowie Herausgeber (Editor-in-Chief) des Georgian Law Review.
