Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2010 im Fachbereich BWL - Unternehmensführung, Management, Organisation, Note: 1,5, Steinbeis-Hochschule Berlin, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Die Entwicklung der Krankenhäuser geht auf eine sehr lange Geschichte zurück. Bereits in der Antike lassen sich in der Nähe von Tempeln erste "Heilanstalten" finden, später übernehmen Klöster eine wichtige Aufgabe in der Krankenversorgung. Hiervon sind wir in der Neuzeit sicherlich weit entfernt und auch die Aufgaben von Krankenhäusern haben sich stark geändert. Mittlerweile besteht eine breit gestreute "Krankenhauslandschaft", nicht nur in Bezug auf die Ausrichtung der Krankenhäuser sondern auch auf die Trägerschaften. Patienten haben die Auswahl, ob sie Krankenhäuser mit einem religiösen, anthroposophischen oder "technisch" ausgerichteten Hintergrund suchen. In Zeiten der Mediendiversität werden Krankenhaus-Rankings veröffentlicht, wo jeder Patient die Möglichkeit hat, "den" Facharzt/"die" Fachärztin oder "die" Fachabteilung zu finden, die mit Höchstnoten bewertet wurden. Somit hat sich auch die Aufstellung der Krankenhäuser zunehmend verändert. Die Entwicklung von Gemeindekrankenhäusern oder kirchlich geleiteten Häusern zu privatisierten Krankenhäusern bekommt zunehmende Wichtigkeit. Die Aufgaben der Krankenhausorganisationen orientieren sich mehr am Leistungsangebot, klinischer Umsetzung von Forschung und Entwicklung sowie an der Finanzierung von Gesundheitsdienstleistungen. Das übergeordnete Sachziel eines Krankenhauses stellt die Versorgung der Bevölkerung mit stationären Gesundheitsleistungen dar. Die Primärleistung ist die Verbesserung des Gesundheitszustandes des Patienten. Krankenhäuser werden jedoch nicht nur aufgrund des zunehmenden Konkurrenzkampfes untereinander sondern auch spätestens seit Einführung der DRGs, also der Vergütung der im Krankenhaus erbrachten Leistungen über Fallpauschalen zu Dienstleistungserbringern.
