El trabajo y el pensamiento del premiado diseñador Curro Claret son el punto de arranque de esta serie de conversaciones que reúnen a reconocidas voces vinculadas al mundo del arte y el diseño. A partir de los temas recurrentes surgidos en los diálogos, Oscar Guayabero ha sabido deconstruir y reconstruir magistralmente las conversaciones hasta crear siete nuevas charlas virtuales. En ellas, las distintas miradas se unen y reordenan conformando un armónico sembrado de reflexiones, ideas, dudas y experiencias. El libro, fruto de un gran trabajo de edición de Ramón úbeda, desborda su objetivo y no solo se convierte en una potente reflexión polifónica realizada desde el lenguaje del diseño, sino también en una reivindicación de esa cara humilde y brillante a la vez que debería instalarse en nuestra cultura industrial y que tan bien personifica Curro Claret. Curro Claret nace en Barcelona en 1968. Estudia diseño industrial en la Escuela Superior de Diseño Elisava y en Central Saint Martins de Londres. Desde 1998 trabaja como diseñador freelance, en proyectos muy diferentes (objetos, instalaciones, interiorismo, eventos-happening?), para familia, amigos, galerías, instituciones, fundaciones, el Ayuntamiento de Barcelona, la Generalitat de Catalunya y diversas empresas. Al mismo tiempo ejerce ocasionalmente como profesor y tallerista de diseño industrial, principalmente en la Escuela IED de Barcelona. Actualmente, forma parte de la Junta Directiva del FAD (Foment de les Arts i el Disseny). Su obra ha sido expuesta en numerosas galerías y museos y ha recibido numerosas distinciones y premios. Su trabajo se distingue por ser fruto de una reflexión constante sobre el papel del diseñador en la sociedad y la inclusión del usuario en los procesos de creación. Al mismo tiempo su diseño se puede considerar social en tanto que a menudo es una herramienta para generar procesos de inclusión, colaboración y codiseño con colectivos de personas en situación de fragilidad.
About the Author: Oscar Guayabero nace en el barrio del Raval de Barcelona en 1968. Realiza estudios de Arte y Diseño Industrial en la Escuela Massana de esta ciudad. Trabaja en el entorno del diseño, la arquitectura, la comunicación, la gestión cultural y el activismo social. Entre sus actividades se encuentran la escritura de artículos y libros especializados, el comisariado de exposiciones y la creación de plataformas de reflexión y/o difusión del diseño. También imparte clases y colabora en redes digitales. Buscando una palabra adecuada para definir su actividad, Guayabero se autodefine como para diseñador, de la misma forma que existen, por ejemplo, las artes parateatrales o los fenómenos paranormales.
