Hitlers, des deutschen Gefreiten aus dem Ersten Weltkrieg Tanz, lässt der Autor im Jahr 1933 mit einem bürgerlich - idyllischem Geburtstagsfest beginnen. Lebensnah der Alltag jener Zeit. Anhänger und Kritiker des braunen Regimes zeigen sich. Beziehungen zu Freunden und Nachbarn, Freuden und Sorgen spiegeln die Verhältnisse im damaligen "Dritten Reich". Doch urplötzlich findet sich der Leser im ukrainischen Weiler Nisiliwka, wo durch von Stalin gesteuerte Kulakenverfolgung und Hungerwillkür unbeschreibliche Zustände herrschen. Dann, durch den Krieg, verknüpfen sich die Schicksale der Familien Moisejew und Sattler. Das ukrainische Mädchen Soja trifft in deutscher Zwangsarbeit den Hitlerjungen Ewald auf seinem Weg in den Krieg. Schauplätze und Schicksale pendeln zwischen Hakenkreuz und Hammer und Sichel. Beide Gewaltherrschaften werden aus der Perspektive bodenständiger Menschen erlebt und nur zum Teil überlebt. Beeindruckend, Dichte und Exaktheit der zeitgeschichtlichen Details. Ein Erzählstrom, der die Spannung über fünf große Kapitel aufrecht erhält und dem Leser das Gefühl vermittelt, mitten im Geschehen zu sein.
About the Author: Ernst Scharrer wurde 1925 in Nürnberg geboren. Er entstammt einem politisch kritischen Elternhaus, diente ab 1943 als Infanterist in der damaligen Wehrmacht und war von 1945 bis 1949 in russischer Gefangenschaft. Während seiner Berufslaufbahn arbeitete er als Betriebswirt und Einzelprokurist in der Industrie. Auf vielen geschäftlichen und privaten Reisen nach Russland knüpfte er zahlreiche Kontakte und pflegt bis heute enge Freundschaften. Er ist Vater von drei erwachsenen Kindern und lebt heute im fränkischen Wendelstein. In seinem Ruhestand beschäftigt sich Ernst Scharrer, neben dem Schreiben, mit Musikkomposition und jüngerer Zeitgeschichte. Bei BoD erschienen bereits mehrere (z.T. inzwischen vergriffene) Titel, wie "Blumen im Eis", woraus eine Hörfunkreihe beim ERF ausgestrahlt wurde; oder "Die Stimme der Planeten" und neuerdings "Dialoge höherer Art aus Franken", zwei Ausflüge in den fränkischen Humor. Zuletzt, neuere Zeitgeschichte betreffend, erschien sein großes Werk "Beim Tanz des Gefreiten. Roman um eine benutzte Generation".
